Thanks for Another Successful Saves for Cancer Season!
Another Saves for Cancer season has drawn to a close, but thanks to Sabres goalie Ryan Miller and the support of this year's sponsors--West Herr Automotive Group, P&B Capital Group, and Schmidt's Collision and Glass--Saves for Cancer raised nearly $100,000 for pediatric cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park.
We need you to help ensure the continued success of Saves for Cancer during 2009-10 and beyond. History and Corporate Involvment: Ryan Miller continues to show us his uncanny ability and determination to save shots on the ice, while at the same time showing strength, determination and leadership off the ice.
In 2006, Ryan along with his father, Dean, established The Steadfast Foundation. This foundation was born out of Miller's own personal family connection with cancer, when his late cousin, Matthew Shoals, battled leukemia. The Steadfast Foundation later pledged its committed support to children and teens served by Carly's Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2007.
During 2007-2008, Ryan Miller took his support for Carly's Club even higher through the "Ryan Miller Saves for Cancer" campaign. A donation was made by P&B and West Herr Automotive Group for each save Ryan Miller made on the ice during the past season. With a total of 1907 saves for the year, the campaign raised over $30,000!
During the season in 2008-2009, Ryan’s big saves on the ice will continue to help save the lives of many through the continuing efforts of the "Saves for Cancer" campaign.
Roswell Park and Ryan Miller would like to sincerely thank West Herr Automotive Group, P&B Capital Group LLC, Schmidt's Auto Body and Glass and Entercom for their continued commitment to the campaign and team effort to help save lives.
