Welcome to the Pinehurst Elementary Team Cure Challenge fundraising page. We hope that you can support us and Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the fight against cancer!

On May 24th, 2009, volunteers from the families and staff of Pinehurst Elementary School, as well as the local community, will be participating in the Team Cure Buffalo Challenge to raise funds for critical research and patient care at one of the nation’s top comprehensive cancer centers- Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Our volunteers have committed themselves to running the marathon, half marathon or relay marathon in an effort to make a difference in the war against cancer.

Team Fly High Janie was formed in memory of Janie Kashino. Janie was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma in June 2005 at the age of 3. She fought courageously for three years until ending her fight July 16th, 2008 at just 6 years old. Although her time here on Earth was short, the impact she has left on her family, friends, and community will last forever.

The money we raise will help researchers and physicians with their goal to fight cancer as it will be used to help them better understand the causes of cancer and discover new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Some of our volunteers are active runners, others have never run before, but all are dedicated to this worth while cause. If you would like to join Team Fly High Janie please contact Rachel Sobczyk at mrsobczyk@hotmail.com.

Our team goal is to raise $1,000 for every mile of the 26.2 mile marathon our volunteers will be running. Please support us as generously as possible and click on the “Pledge Now” button to make a donation.
