The Ride Fitness Club provides:
Why Wellness
The Ride created The Fitness Club training and wellness program in response to the many corporate teams looking for events that encouraged year-round health and because of many individual riders who were looking for fitness and training advice to prepare for The Ride. We have partnered with health industry, fitness, nutrition and training professionals to provide you with the information you need to get started.
The Ride Fitness Club
The Ride Fitness Club is designed to engage current and future riders to adopt a healthier lifestyle by training earlier and more often. The program will serve as an opportunity to gather riders together in a common place with a common theme to increase community awareness and to encourage them to get involved or increase their involvement with The Ride and a healthier lifestyle. These opportunities are also offered to help increase the proficiency levels of the volunteers. Join The Ride Fitness Club group today and be a part of the discussion on www.RideConnect.org.
The Club Basics
- The Ride Fitness Club offerings are free for any registered rider. Club members also receive a water bottle and training towel for completing one training event.
- The Ride Fitness Club Card: A rider will receive a card the first time he/she attends a program for a chance to win a grand prize. Riders must collect a signature from the training or wellness activity leader at each program. For every ten signatures a club member receives, he or she may turn in the card for a chance to win. Riders begin a new card at the next program he or she attends. The more training and events someone attends, the more chances they win. The drawing will be in the fall after all events are complete. Send cards to The Ride For Roswell, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14263.

Ask the Coaches – Tips & Tricks from the BAC
The Buffalo Athletic Club team is available to answer your health and fitness questions on our Wellness & Training discussion forum on RideConnect.org.
Pace yourself. Many beginners train too much, thinking more is better. You are much better off easing into the process. You'll increase your chances of success when you moderate your approach and then gradually increase both your time and intensity. This strategy, to start slow and gradually increase, will help prevent burn out, keep you interested in your progress and ultimately lead to success.
