Thank you for stopping by my ride page!
The Ride for Roswell through the Roswell Park Cancer Institute is a very important cause to me. I first started participating a couple years ago when Cancer hit a little bit closer to home than I ever could have expected and as I continue to support the cause, I find that there are dozens of others closer to me, my family and friends who have been touched by it as well.
One out of two men and one in three women in America will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Most of us know someone who has successfully battled cancer. We also know someone who has had their life taken by it. These statistics are just too high for me to ignore!!
This June, I will be cycling 20 miles in an outdoor cycling event, to raise funds for Roswell Park's critical research and patient care programs. Roswell Park is one of the nation's first Comprehensive Cancer Centers designated by the National Cancer Institute. Today, it is the only such center in Upstate New York.
I hope you can find it in your heart if not to donate, then to say a few words in honor or memory of someone on my ride wall so that I may honor them as well!!
Please keep the following in your prayers as I ride for them:
R. Carson, Bill Jobling, Gena Butler, Curtis Cunningham, Mary Cunningham, Link Cunningham, Ulysses Currey, Herman Taylor, B. Searight, J. Searight (RIP), Tara, E. Washington, Angela Doreen Collins-Gould-Brooks (RIP), Lois Brock, Brenda Demery, Clara, Richelle, Wesley, Ernest and Kathy Smith (Rip 5/2011).
