Welcome to my "Ride for Roswell" page! It means a lot to me that you would take the time to visit my fundraising page, and I hope that you can support me in my ride for the Roswell Park Cancer Institute!

This year I will be riding in honor of three friends who are currently battling cancer. They are all "some of the good guys" and are too young to be going through this. But they all have one thing in common - a great attitude. It is the least I can do to ride my bike to try & help find a cure and support them through their treatments. I have been lucky enough to not get cancer - yet. But I have had too many people that matter to me taken or afflicted with cancer. One out of three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Most of us know someone that has successfully battled cancer. We also know someone who has had their life taken by it.

This June, I will be cycling in The Ride For Roswell to raise funds for critical research and patient care at one of the nation's top comprehensive cancer centers - Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The money I raise will help researchers and physicians better understand the causes of cancer and discover new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Tom,

I think it is great that you are doing the Ride for Roswell. I will be more than happy to make a donation to this cause.

I feel good. I have been getting a little stronger every day.

I was in the hospital for just under four weeks. During this time I had one week of chemo treatments which consisited of a continuos IV drip for one week. I then had to wait for my blood counts to rise again. When I was in remission I was released from the hospital. Today I have to go back to the hospital for a week of consolidation chemo treatments. Within two weeks after this I must receive a bone marrow transplant because I have an extra protein on the leukemia which will not allow me to stay in remission. My sister is a perfect match for my transplant. The doctor has told me to expect to stay in the hospital for 6-8 weeks. At least at this time I will have agreat chance of being cured of this disease.

Roswell now has a speacial place in my heart. Next year I would like to ride with you for this wonderful cause.
